High-Risk Smokers Ages 55 to 74 Should Be Screened
Something to consider if you’re a lifetime smoker, or someone who quit after an extended run: get checked regularly for lung cancer. Health experts suggest an annual CT scan if you fall into either category and are between the ages of 55 and 74. The low dose scan is a proactive screening tool that could save your life. Dr. Christian Finley, a thoracic surgeon at St. Joe’s, spoke to CTV News about this recent recommendation by The Canadian Task Force on Preventative Health Care.
