Monthly feature: Dr. Peter Cook, Dr. Zain Chagla and Dee Frisina 2021 Mission Legacy Award winners
Late November we celebrated the 2021 Mission Legacy Award ceremony at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. The Mission Legacy Award recognizes key individuals and departments / teams who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to contribute to the legacy and mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, St. Joseph's Health System, St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and its Foundation.
Each month we will feature a few of the award recipients to share a bit more about how they have made meaningful contributions throughout their time with our health care organization.
This month we feature Dr. Peter Cook, Dr. Zain Chagla and Dee Frisina.
Dr. Peter Cook: Dr. Cook has provided exemplary service to the most marginalized and vulnerable members of the community. His clinical work and leadership within the organization has made him a role model to junior staff and peers alike. It is without a doubt that Peter’s many contributions will continue to have a significant impact on the care provided here in the Mental Health & Addictions Program.
Dr. Zain Chagla: Dr. Zain Chagla has been a foundational pillar for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and the community at large during the COVID-19 pandemic. Always composed, open and direct, he is able to articulate the most current research, anticipate areas of concern and allay fears of the unknown. His advocacy for under-served/underrepresented groups during the pandemic is truly reflective of the Sisters’ mission.
Dee Frisina: Dee has been a dedicated nurse of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton for several decades. She demonstrates the mission and values of the Sisters of St. Joseph each day with her commitment to compassionate patient care.
