Join Us in Celebrating Doctor’s Day in Ontario
Every day, more than 320,000 patients are treated or cared for by a doctor across Ontario. Doctors are making a positive difference in the lives of various patients whether it is in a hospital, community care centre, long-term care facility, research lab or a clinic.
In 2011, Ontario Doctor’s Day was established to mark the first birthday of Canada’s first female physician and a founder of the women’s movement in Canada, Dr. Emily Stowe. This is the official day of appreciation for Ontario’s medical profession recognized by the Ontario Medical Association (OMA).
At St. Joe’s, we have a simple mission: to live the legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph’s of Hamilton by providing compassionate, high quality patient care. The many doctor’s at St. Joe’s demonstrate and live this mission every day as many sit on local, provincial and national advisory groups striving to make best patient care for all.
In Hamilton, we are fortunate to have talented physicians leading the way in transforming care for patients in our own community, and beyond. They deliver ground-breaking research, drive innovation and new models of care, and provide compassionate, patient centred care for those in need.
For the month of May, patients and their families, health care professionals and others can celebrate Doctor’s Day by visiting www.OntariosDoctors.com and adding their name to show their support and thanks, or by tweeting with the hashtags #PatientsFirst or #DocsRock to @OntariosDoctors
